Arriva strengthens its presence in Italy and starts an organizational reorganization

The team leading the company has been confirmed. 2 new directions are born: Business Innovation and Business Development.

Arriva Italia, Italian company controlled by the German Deutsche Bahn, one of the world leaders in passenger transport services, consolidates its presence in Italy and starts a reorganization of its organizational structure in order to be able to better face future opportunities and challenges.

The Arriva Group closed 2017 with a 4.9% growth in revenues in 2017, bringing the total turnover to over 5.3 billion euros. This growth has allowed Arriva to invest almost 400 million euros to finance the improvement of services in the United Kingdom and continental Europe, of which 40 million in Italy. Italia arrives, chaired by Luigi Roth, is part of the Southern, Central & Eastern Europe Division, led by Marco Piuri.

They are years of growth and successes for Arriva, says Angelo Costa, CEO of Arriva Italia, but I am convinced that more can be done to consolidate our presence on the Italian market and to allow further development. To achieve the set goals, we decided to invest in some strategic functions, assigning new directions to Arriva managers with consolidated and proven experience. The rationalization of our presence in the territories will give us greater flexibility and speed in decision-making processes. The market context in which we operate is complex and highly competitive. The growing needs of customers, the progressive evolution of the regulatory framework and the current trends in the mobility sector determine new challenges to which we want to respond promptly and with innovative solutions“.

The changes concern the introduction of two new Departments headed by the Arriva Italia S.r.l. holding, entrusted to two managers of the group who have achieved brilliant operating results, as well as new assignments in the management of local operating companies.

From today, the holding is completed with the creation of two new Departments entrusted to two managers of the group:

  • Business Innovation, whose task is to invest heavily in innovation processes and operational efficiency. Annarita Polacchini, who has carried out various innovative initiatives at ASF Como, leads the management
  • Business Development, which takes care of implementing the necessary actions to carry out a business growth path in Italy. The manager of the management is Giuseppe Proto who in recent years has followed various development initiatives including the SAVDA acquisition.

The Finance Departments (headed by Paolo Girino), HR (Giorgio La Valle), Legal (Stefano Bombelli) and Engineering & Procurement (Bruno Colnago) are also confirmed.
